The discussants presented different analytical and critical readings of the book. A lively discussion followed. (Participants may want to add some aspects of the content of the discussions through responses on the website).
It was a great meet. Mr. Mooeed, Mr Hasanuddin, Mr. Vivek, the Prinicpal of Law College and the two ladies laid bare the anamolies in the book. They exposed how A.G.Noorani has been most dishonest with truth and facts. All were of the opinion that he referred only to those books and a Resident who were against the Nizam. He did not refer to any Urdu sources as Mr. Moeed said. He was an outsider and could never understand the ethos of Hyderabadi composite culture which was indeed secular. The only dissenting voice was that of Ms MailKote one of the few Marhattas that lived in Hyderabad as the fifth column. Apart from that the forum was unanimous in condemning the book and nothing but a piece of propaganda material by those who conquered and annexed the state. In the context of Telangana movement one is inclined to suspect that it was funded by Ramuji Rao the Andhra businessman to malign the Nizam both in India and Pakistan and undo the recent literature that has come out in favour of the lost State and The Nizam.
